Under this new Planning Use Classes Orders, all property investors will now have to apply for planning permission in order to establish a new HMO (houses in multiple occupation) with a change of use. An application which could prove to be a lengthy and time consuming process for all involved…
Speaking on this change, property advisors explained that the main goal behind this new initiative is to control the spread of shared rented properties across the UK property market. However, the government are also keen to tackle the increasing number of unsafe and substandard property let’s being leased by bad landlords at the same time.
