Should Tenant Checks Be Compulsory?

Too many landlords are not performing checks on potential tenants to save money, according to research by the National Landlord’s Association.

The following should always be checked...

* County Court Judgements
* Bankruptcy
* Insolvency searches
* Linked addresses
* Aliases
* Employer references
* Previous landlords

These checks will ensure you won't have any problems in the future.

But, for £8 per tenant, the NLA provide a Tenant Checking Service where landlords can pass on their tenants details and research on your behalf.
